DavidC79
Hi, I have tried exporting my artboards via Singular Export and Export Persona however certain designs are rendered with strange artefacts in any file type other than SVG and PDF. As you can see in my screenshot the inner circle is exported with some straight edges. Any ideas why this may be doing this? The only way of getting around it, is to export the artboard as an SVG then open each individual file to export as a PNG.
Hangman
Hi @DavidC79 and welcome to the forums, Without seeing the Affinity file it's going to be difficult to diagnose, are you able to upload the file so we can take a look at possible causes? DavidC79
Hi, @Hangman My working file was quite big with lots of different versions but I have recreated the issue in the attached files. It is simply a white circle with a large black stroke. I have also included the exported PNG where you can see some strange artefacts on the right and bottom parts of the inner of the black stroke. Hangman
Hi @DavidC79, The issue appears to relate to stokes using both inner and outer alignment... changing the stroke to centred seems to remedy the issue so I would say this is a potential bug which may or may not have been reported previously, I'd have to check... DavidC79
Many thanks @Hangman I had a play also and I found that if I use the texture line setting instead of solid that also fixes the issue. Not that this should be happening however, hopefully, the issue gets resolved in a future update. Hangman
Old Bruce
May be I am missing something but that stroke is wider than the set 50.3 points. If you care to measure it is is thicker. If you perform a Boolean Add on it it is fine for export and it is the 50.3 points thick. That would be somewhat restrictive in some cases. It's pretty much like saying you could only use the set font sizes and nothing in between or bigger. You can type what ever value you need in the box. If it's not supported then it shouldn't allow it. I use circles with large border strokes for badges and placing a text layer within the border and have had no issues previously in other software. Works fine however using the texture line setting instead of solid line.

Interesting will try that, thanks. would help if those spikes were visible in the working design file though and not just the exported files 😁 Edited July 22, 2023 by DavidC79
