Issue Opening Multiple RAW Files in Affinity Photo from the Finder

Recommended Posts

In v2.1.0 (and all earlier versions of Photo) you can:

  1. Drag multiple RAW files from the Finder to the Photo UI and it will open all the files in the Develop Persona.
  2. Add additional RAW files to the Develop Persona by dragging the files from the Finder to the Photo UI.

In v2.2.0

  1. Step 1 above works.
  2. Step 2 above no longer opens the additional RAW Files, the green + icon appears but the new files are not opened in addition to the existing files in the Develop Persona.

You can, however, still use File > Open to add additional files to the Develop Persona.

Could anyone confirm if they see the same on Mac and Windows?

Hi @Hangman,

This is a regression over 2.1.1 and is currently logged with the developers, i've now bumped it with your report.

For future reference, since this is a 2.2 beta regression not in the release build, it's best to log these types of issues over in the beta forums bug section for the visibility of the QA team. 🙂

Hi @NathanC,

No problem at all, I didn't log it there initially as I wanted to check if the issue was unique to my set-up prior to logging it as an actual bug in case it turned out not to be one. Apologies, I didn't realise it was already logged as a regression...

Thanks for bumping though in the meantime... :)

Ah that makes sense, no worries!

The issue "[macOS] With a document open, you cannot drag and drop to open a second file" (REF: AFB-7820) has been fixed by the developers in internal build "2.2.0.1951".
This fix should soon be available as a customer beta and is planned for inclusion in the next customer release.
Customer beta builds are announced here and you can participate by following these instructions.
If you still experience this problem once you are using that build version (or later) please reply to this thread including @Serif Info Bot to notify us.
