BBG3 Posted June 4, 2023 Posted June 4, 2023 When I change the color of my first word or letter after a bullet point, the bullet point color gets changed too. I don't want to change the color of my bullet points. I've spent 15 minutes to see how can I fix this bug and I still haven't found any solution. BBG3 Posted June 4, 2023 Author Posted June 4, 2023 Here is Apple Keynote. As you can see bullet point color is separated and there is no bug. walt.farrell Posted June 4, 2023 Posted June 4, 2023 This is not a bug, @BBG3, but the way the Affinity applications are designed to work. The formatting characteristics of the first character apply to the bullet/number, too. To avoid that, note that in the Bullets and Numbering settings (Paragraph panel, or Paragraph Text Style) there is a field for a Character Text Style that will be applied to the Bullet/Number. So: Define a Character Text Style for the Bullet/Number that you want to use. Specify that Character Teat Style in the Bullets and Numbering section of the Paragraph panel or the Paragraph Text Style you're using for the text. Then format the first character of the text as you want it. (I'm away from the computer, and can't provide a screenshot at the moment. The field (though not its usage) is described in the Help, though not shown. https://affinity.help/designer2/en-US.lproj/pages/Panels/paragraphPanel.html BBG3 and Patrick Connor 2 Quote -- Walt Designer, Photo, and Publisher V1 and V2 at latest retail and beta releases PC: Desktop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 64GB memory, AMD Ryzen 9 5900 12-Core @ 3.00 GHz, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Laptop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 32GB memory, Intel Core i7-10750H @ 2.60GHz, Intel UHD Graphics Comet Lake GT2 and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU. BBG3 Posted June 4, 2023 Author Posted June 4, 2023 Thanks for your help @walt.farrell 🙂. I fixed that, but it took a long time. I believe we shouldn't spend a lot of time to figure out how a simple feature works. I like a book called "Don't Make Me Think" which is for UX designers. Most of the time we need to change the color of bullet points and bullet points has its own and separated style. Affinity designer compare to Illustrator has more options and way better, but to me it is confusing. Thank you very much for your help.
