Publisher Layer Effects Display Wrong Blend Mode?

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone,

quick question: When editing layer effects in Publisher (before anyone asks, I normally do this in Photo, but I double-clicked and thought it would be easier to change the logo quickly in Publisher), is it supposed to show up like this?
It says »Highlight: Screen«, but when I click on it to change/check the blend mode, it suddenly says »Light Colour« (because I set it to Light Colour). The same goes for »Shadow: Colour Burn«, it changes to »Multiply«, which is the blend mode that's actually configured. I would have thought it would show the currently set blend mode in this view. 🤔

A bit confusing to look at without wanting to go in and check everything twice, I think. 🤷‍♂️

Have a great weekend
Dennis

It is doing the same thing in Designer 2.1 but only for the Dark and Light sections of the blend menu.  (I assume the same code base is being used between apps so it probably is doing the same thing in the others)  Lighten displays Lighten but Screen displays Color Dodge ( the option below screen).  Same thing for Color Dodge displaying Add.  But oddly enough, Lighter Color displays Screen.  At least it's the same family of modes. ;)  The Dark menu options cycle the same way.

The issue "[macOS] Layer FX- Bevel/Emboss default blend modes display the incorrect blend mode" (REF: AF-1381) has been fixed by the developers in internal build "2.4.0.2222".
This fix should soon be available as a customer beta and is planned for inclusion in the next customer release.
Customer beta builds are announced here and you can participate by following these instructions.
If you still experience this problem once you are using that build version (or later) please reply to this thread including @Serif Info Bot to notify us.
