Adobe Certified Expert
I have the following problem: In Designer 2.1.0 I have tried to activate the baseline grid. As soon as I tick the box in the baseline grid window that the baseline grid should be used, the programme crashes completely without an error message. This behaviour does not occur with new documents. But when I work with a document for a longer time, the error occurs reproducibly. I have tried it on several computers. The problem occurs everywhere, on a laptop as well as on a workstation. I am attaching a test document where the error occurs. The document was created under version 2.1.0. GarryP
I can replicate this with the document supplied. After activating the baseline grid, the mouse cursor changes to the spinning blue hoop for a little while, then I get the normal pointer back or a few seconds, and then the application crashes. Note: You say Designer (in the title and post) but I think you might mean Publisher.
Staff Dan C Posted May 30, 2023 Staff Share Posted May 30, 2023 Hi @Adobe Certified Expert, Thanks for your document provided and I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble! I can confirm that I've been able to replicate this issue here and therefore I have logged the file with our development team. I'm unable to provide the exact reasoning for this crash at this time, however I can see that it is caused by the Running Headers on your Master Page - as deleting these text frames then allow for the Baseline Grid to be activated - though I cannot replicate this in a new document. Our team will investigate this further so that we can identify the reasoning behind this and resolve this in a future update. I hope this helps Adobe Certified Expert 1 Quote Please note - I am currently out of the office for a short while whilst recovering from surgery (nothing serious!), therefore will not be available on the Forums during this time. Should you require a response from the team in a thread I have previously replied in - please Create a New Thread and our team will be sure to reply as soon as possible. Many thanks! Adobe Certified Expert
Thank you very much for the quick response! Many other companies could take an example from this. I can currently live without a basic grid in these documents. But I am happy if I can help to clean up errors.
