Designer 2.1.0 Masking a group causes different color antialiasing in pixel view than edge of shapes

Recommended Posts

I don't remember this happening before the recent update, but it could be some setting I changed and forgot about, but antialiasing in pixel view has a green or blue tint when it is caused by a mask but the outline of a shape has correct antialiasing. it's in RGB color space, and I tried to see if 16 bit would change it but nope. the screenshot with a glow was previously created and this bug did not show then.

A masked group with Passthrough blend mode is rendered incorrectly where the mask produces semi-opacity.

That bug has been in the Affinity apps, and reported many times, for the 6 years I've used them, so I consider it a forever bug now.

Workaround: switch the group's blend mode to Normal or any except Passthrough and the rendering will be correct.

Hi @RocketPoweredTennisBall,

Thanks for your report.

As above, this issue is logged as a bug with our development team and I will be sure to 'bump' this with your thread now to bring it to their attention once again.

Hopefully you should find the above workaround resolves this issue for you in the meantime :)

Please note -

I am currently out of the office for a short while whilst recovering from surgery (nothing serious!), therefore will not be available on the Forums during this time.

Should you require a response from the team in a thread I have previously replied in - please Create a New Thread and our team will be sure to reply as soon as possible.

Many thanks!
