davidsatria Posted May 28, 2023 Posted May 28, 2023 Hey team, So, I've been using Affinity Publisher since version 1, and I always rely on styling lines in tables, both for the fill and stroke. Usually, I prefer using dashed lines with rounded caps. However, in version 2.1, the default seems to be the butt cap (square), and I can't seem to change it to a round cap. I've attached a screenshot for reference. Thanks a bunch! Old Bruce 1 Quote
Old Bruce Posted May 28, 2023 Posted May 28, 2023 Welcome to the forums @davidsatria, Good catch. I wonder why it has taken this long to be noticed. Happens here on Mac OS 11.7 too. I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.
davidsatria Posted May 28, 2023 Author Posted May 28, 2023 Can you do it in version 2.0? I found it work fine in 2.0 Quote
Old Bruce Posted May 28, 2023 Posted May 28, 2023 I don't have 2.0 and am not going to download it. Currently I have the 2.1.0 version. It does work properly in 1.10.6 which I still have installed. Staff NathanC Posted May 30, 2023 Staff Posted May 30, 2023 Hi @davidsatria welcome to the forums, These options for tables were intentionally disabled in V2/2.1 by the developers as this was something we previously logged, these were disabled for the following reason: Quote They don’t work for tables because the cells aren’t drawn individually, which means the caps and joins wouldn’t turn up where you expected and it would be difficult to get the desired results. This doesn't necessarily rule out them being re-enabled in a future update, though it's not something I can provide a timeframe for. This was possible from within the stroke panel (but not the table panel) for a time in 2.0, but was disabled from within this panel as of 2.1 for consistency (thread below for reference): Quote
davidsatria Posted May 30, 2023 Author Posted May 30, 2023 So, how do I get rounded dash inside a table line? this used to be very easy to do before. Quote

Since it was not working as expected it was disabled for individual cells/rows inside a table as previously mentioned, though correct round dotted line style support may be added in the future. However i've found that you can still apply a round dotted line style to an entire table if you select the table in the layers panel, just not to cells/rows/columns. Quote
davidsatria Posted May 30, 2023 Author Posted May 30, 2023 what version are you using? I came across the same problem when I followed your instructions Quote

I came across the same problem when I followed your instructions Ah, I believe I've found another inconsistency on MacOS as this still shouldn't be possible so i'll get this logged, I was suprised that it worked in this scenario originally. My screenshot was on Mac, just tried the exact same on Windows and it's not possible, my apologies, please ignore my previous post! Quote
davidsatria Posted May 30, 2023 Author Posted May 30, 2023 Thanks for checking it out, I hope there will be a fix in the next update. I work on making planners every day with Affinity Publisher, forced to use an old version for this problem, hopefully it will be resolved soon. Quote
Endriu Posted December 20, 2024 Posted December 20, 2024 Align stroke table still not active? This is a very necessary option ;( Quote
