default pixel distance

I can't figure out how to make a selected object move exactly 600 px.    All I can find lets me move only up to 6 pixels.

Hate to say what we all hear; but it's easy to change this setting in Illustrator.   =[

Settings> Tools > Nudge Distance

A simple way to do this is to select the object & use the Transform panel with an expression like +600 in the X or Y field. Quicker than opening preferences/settings, going to Tools & changing the nudge distance, unless you usually want to nudge objects the same distance each time.

You mean an expression like an After Effects expression?   That sounds like more work than setting a nudge distance.   =\

No, I literally mean entering (for example) +600 in either of those two fields. This assumes your document units are set to px. 

See for example https://affinity.help/designer2/en-US.lproj/pages/Workspace/expressions.html for more about using expressions for field input. It show an example for the expression for input as +=20 but I have found that the = is not usually needed.

Oh I see.   That is pretty cool.   But you have to enter the value every single time; as opposed to the Nudge Tool setting.   I can see what you've pointed out could be usefull tho.

Sure, but unless you are always moving layers by the same amount, it is still quicker than having to open settings & changing the nudge distance each time you want to move it a new distance.
