Sharon Villines Posted May 16, 2023 Posted May 16, 2023 I have a scan of a construction drawings that a client wants to use for coloring choices for the exterior. But the lines are fairly thin since they were scanned at the standard size of 36'" by 48" and have to be reduced to a standard page size. What is the best way to make the lines crisper and darker? walt.farrell Posted May 16, 2023 Posted May 16, 2023 For a raster image like that, you could play with adding: A Levels adjustment, and dragging the input Black slider to the right. or A Brightness/Contrast adjustment, and dragging Brightness and/or Contrast to the left. I'm not sure those are the best ways, and others will probably have different suggestions. Either of these can certainly make the lines darker, but I'm not sure they'll be crisper. To be honest the lines are completely crisp and they cannot get any darker either. But having said that. First I would get rid of the White Paper so it is just the lines. Then you could try using a couple of copies and shift one up and another over by a pixel. Flatten the layers and you'll have thicker lines. I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.
