I’ve been using batch jobs to pre-process some of my images.

This works, but it would be better if I could specify the new file name root.

Also, when selecting files, it would be nice if I could draw a  box or something else to select several images without having to click on each one.

finally, instead of selecting a new x size, it would be convenient to be able to upscale by for example 2x.

OK, I see that in version 2.1 of the photo app, that the batch process now allows me to select several images in a nice way already

Thanks, but my other suggestions would still be nice.

Even in V1 it's a native file manager dialog for your OS, and both File Explorer and Finder (I think) allow you to have a list mode, and to select a range of files without clicking on each one. Or when not in list mode, there are native shortcuts you can use for multiple file selection.

The problem is that it always uses the same names photo_n  over and over.
So if it could use the original names, or modify the original names with an append, or allow me to put in a root name, then I could merge these batch files with my normal directories.

So you want something like this

Mac Pro (Late 2013) Mac OS 12.7.6
Affinity Designer 2.5.5 | Affinity Photo 2.5.5 | Affinity Publisher 2.5.5 | Beta versions as they appear.

I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.
