It would be helpful if Publisher had standard book document sizes used by major printers available to choose, including adjustments for numbers of pages.  For example, Amazon lists their page sizes:

https://kdp.amazon.com/en_US/help/topic/GVBQ3CMEQW3W2VL6

and Ingram lists theirs:

https://www.ingramspark.com/plan-your-book/print/trim-sizes

It would be great to have different trims selectable, where the suggested margins would be set, with checkboxes if there needs to be bleed, etc. and for book covers, it would be great if you could generate the right size cover file based on the number of pages. For the cover, see PublishDrive's cover template generator as an example:

https://publishdrive.com/print-cover-template-generator.html

Based on number of pages, paper type, color or B&W, etc. it generates a cover template with the correct spine size, and all the margins and bleed settings set up. I would be great if you have a book in Publisher, and you can just generate a cover template for the book, and it will create the correct file based on your actual book file.

There are so many popular book sizes that the list would be very long.

It's too bad that the document presets are stored in a proprietary file that is buried a bit deep. If it was something simple like xml somebody could create preset files for various publishers like Ingram.

If creating new document presets is something Serif chooses to make scriptable when that feature is available then it would be possible to write a script to add document presets from a data file, so you could choose to add all the presets for Ingram or some other publisher.
