Hi there!

When will Serif Labs support Booklet printing on iPad?

On my Macbook Pro it works well, Publisher is placing right A5-page on right A4-page, BUT, on iPad the side sorting is plain 1-2, 3-4 etc etc…

See screenshot from Publisher on iPad… Tested on both inkjet and laserprinter.

2.10 beta 17.43 on both iPad and Mac…

Happy guy playing around with the Affinity Suite - really love typographic, photographing, Color & forms, AND, old Synthesizers from the 1980-1990’s…

Macbook Pro 16” M1 2021 connected to an 32” curved 5K external display, iPad Pro 12.9” M1 2021, iPad Pro 10.5” A10X 2017, iMac 27” 5K/i7 late 2015 - also an Lenovo iMac i7 clone with 24” touch screen and Windows 10…

Thanks for your report @AffinityMakesMeSmile!

As I understand it, these printing options are controlled by iPadOS & the printer driver, not Affinity directly - as we have 2 different AirPrint printers in the office and only 1 of these printers offers the 'Print as Booklet' option under layout, indicating it is a printer/driver specific option.

I am double checking this with our development team here to be certain, but unfortunately I do not believe the Affinity app has any control over imposition of these pages when using this Layout option.

I will be sure to update you here with any further information from our dev team, if the above is not the case :)

FYI - I CAN print the Booklet printing with right page order - it is an bug in the preview in the printer window - there it’s wrong order but when I print it OK!

Why, when printing a booklet in iPad, does Publisher show sheets, while in MacOS it shows pages?

As above, this is controlled by iPadOS and not Affinity - the print dialog shown is an extension of iPadOS and not custom Affinity code, therefore the wording difference between 'sheets' on iPad and 'pages' on macOS is something that Apple controls.

Thanks for verifying that for me! I'll be sure to log this with the dev team now :)
