Hello, I'm looking for option in Affinity Photo to select some area with light texture and clone stamp it to wide area but I don't want source to be moving when I paint. Is this possible to lock that position somehow or use other tool trick to solve that goal? Maybe option to create brush from that? Greetings.

Hi,

to create a new pixel brush from a pixel region:

  • Export area as png file (size of 360x360 px will do)
  • create a new brush categorie for yours
  • create new image brush
  • choose exported file
  • done.
  • you may need to adjust the brush settings, e.g. spacing.

Other alternatives:

  • create a pattern layer from selection, and apply a mask to it or move it down in layer stack
  • Create an asset from a selected area

I use iPad screenshots and videos even in the Desktop section of the forum when I expect no relevant difference.

Just uncheck the Aligned checkbox in the Context Toolbar for the Clone Brush tool.

I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.
