Inserting assets get locked in master when another pinned object is selected

Sometimes dragging an asset onto a document causes the asset to get locked inside the master page. This has seemed to be sporadic, but I have finally discerned at least one scenario where this always happens.

A demonstration video is below. Here is the recipe I have found:

1. Start with the attached document:

insert_asset_test.afpub

2. Drag an asset over the text in the document. (Probably any asset will work, but I have included in the top left corner of the test document the object that I am testing with, so you can add it to your assets if you want. It is the purple “insert comma” object.)

3. Pin that object into the text below.

4. With the pinned object still selected, drag another instance of the same asset somewhere else over the same text frame.

Result: the new object is locked because it was added into the master page. Whether or not a pinned object is selected when a new asset is dragged in seems to a key part of the recipe.

In the video, I am testing with release Publisher 2.0.4 on macOS 13.1, Intel iMac. I have also tested the same procedure in Publisher beta 2.1.0.1736 with the same results.

I've been able to replicate this and have submitted a bug report.
