ColinRUK Posted March 31, 2023 Posted March 31, 2023 Hi, I'm using Affinity Photo Desktop 1.10.6.1665 on Windows 10. All of a sudden I am unable to open the vast majority of my .afphoto files (either newly created or old). I get the message - "Failed to open document xxxxx The file includes features from a later version of Affinity" I can open a .tif in Affinity and create a new .afphoto file without making any edits and I am then unable to re-open the .afphoto file. Thanks for any ideas. Best wishes, Colin Quote

ColinRUK Posted April 1, 2023 Author Posted April 1, 2023 Thanks for checking Richard, are you using the same version of Affinity as me (i.e. 1.10.6.1665) ? Quote
ColinRUK Posted April 1, 2023 Author Posted April 1, 2023 Thanks Richard, I think I've resolved this matter. I'm actually using Affinity Photo 2 but my .afphoto files were associated in Windows with Affinity Photo v 1. They used to be associated with AP2 but somehow this changed. So when I tried to load an an AP2 .afphoto file, Affinity Photo 1 was being loaded - something I should've spotted earlier but didn't. Thanks for your help anyway Regards, Colin Ron P. 1 Quote
Ron P. Posted April 1, 2023 Posted April 1, 2023 When I try to open the file using AP 1.10.6 I get the error about features. However like RichardMH, I can open it in AP V2. The features error is strange, because the only feature I see is the Live Vignette, which is available in both V1 & V2. Further inspection, using the Copy from V2, and pasting into V1 using File>New from Clipboard, the settings in the Live Vignette Filter are maintained. So it's not the Features, but the mere saving it as an APV2 document that provides the error, which is by design.
