Hello.
I have created a file for printing a small catalogue (book of 50 pages) containing text and photos. The export window is buggy, I can only export the pages one by one, whereas I need to make a whole PDF to send to the printer, and before that to send it to my colleagues for validation.

When I open the export window, each time I change the preset, it does not recalculate the file weights, nothing happens. And when I validate the export in the desired folder, again nothing happens. Instead of the preview it says "failed to create preview".
When I try to print the software crashes completely, but I can reopen the file.

I have tried on 2 computers and the problem is the same.

Could the problem be missing links?

I work on :
Affinity Publisher V2 , 2.0.4
Windows 11

Can you help me please ? Any idea what the problem is?

Than you in advance.

Hi @Indy Saki and welcome to the forums…

Realistically we would need to see your Publisher file to be able to determine the problem, are you able to upload your file together with any linked files as a .zip file so we can take a look…

You mentioned there are missing links, is there any reason why, do the files just need to be re linked…

Hello.
Thank you for your reply.

I just need to relink 3 photos. But I don't think that's where the problem is. I am wrong?
I will try and if the problem persists I will send you the file.

Is it not better to include the photos in the file than to link them?

Thank you again for your help.

Hi Indy,

Since you are looking to export a pdf to send to your printer and your colleagues for validation having the files linked is not an issue as they will be embedded in the pdf on export but the three unlinked images need to be relinked first which you should be able to do using Window > Resource Manager, selecting the relevant files and then clicking on Relink.

I'm unsure at this stage what the issue is with regards exporting your file but if you still have the same issue after relinking the files we would ideally need to see the file to understand what is happening to determine why you are unable to export your file to pdf.

Let us know how you get on...

Can you please also try turning off the OpenCL hardware acceleration in the Performance section of the Publisher preferences as they have been reports of some GPU cause issues when creating the rendered export

Hello.

Thank you again for your help.

I tried your solution @DWright but it didn't work.

I copied and pasted the plates into publisher version 1, and then the PDF export worked.
The problem is with version 2.

Monday i will send you a zip with my files. Thank you in advance to take a look at it.

Have a nice week-end
