storrya Posted March 10, 2023 Posted March 10, 2023 I created a panorama from three images and the tone curve was not applied? The tone curve is enabled in the assistant. Any ideas ? Additionally - when the tone curve is switched off, can we not have it available as a nee able disable check box within the Basic Tab, to see what changes it is making ? Quote
walt.farrell Posted March 10, 2023 Posted March 10, 2023 In V1 the Develop Assistant options were not used in all cases, though that was slowly changing. They were used only in Open and New Batch Job, I think. I don't remember the complete list of the cases where it is (or is not) used in V2, but I think at least one scenario was added where the Assistant is used. Which version of Photo are you using? In any case, if you're finding that the Tone Curve is not being applied in a Panorama, that means that File > New Panorama is one of the cases where it's not used. In that case, you may consider Opening, Developing, and Exporting the images to TIFF format and then using the TIFF files to create your Panorama. Dan C Posted March 10, 2023 Posted March 10, 2023 Hi @storrya, As Walt has mentioned above, these 'Develop Assistant' settings are only applicable for the Develop Persona and for Batch Processing, and not for when creating a Panorama, our apologies. Our recommendation is not to use RAW files when creating a panorama as these won't be processed through the same 'RAW pipeline' that is used when opening the images individually into the Develop Persona, and instead to use developed and exported images to ensure the colours are represented as you wish. I hope this clears things up! Quote
storrya Posted March 10, 2023 Author Posted March 10, 2023 Thanks Dan. hiw about the other part of my question please? Additionally - when the tone curve is applied, can we have the tone curve settings shown within the Basic Tab, to see what changes it is making ? A checkbox could disable it also. ? Quote
Dan C Posted March 10, 2023 Posted March 10, 2023 No problem at all! 8 minutes ago, storrya said: Additionally - when the tone curve is applied, can we have the tone curve settings shown within the Basic Tab, to see what changes it is making ? That sounds like it would make a great feature request, which I'd recommend posting here for our devs to see and consider https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/forum/122-feedback-for-the-affinity-v2-suite-of-products/ Quote
