  1. Hi @NathanC , good news ! I have replaced my PC power supply with a new and upgraded version (850watts). my old one was buzzing under Affinity “Export command ” load and causing the crash. No more occurrences ! thanks for your advice Alan
  2. Hi, So I've experienced a black screen crash on export many times and put up with it, but getting a bit fed up now. It seems worse with latest version of Affinity Photo (2.2.1) See attached video for demonstration. After the screen goes black, the monitor says its going into power save mode (presumably as it has lost signal from PC ). I've noticed that it only seems to crash when 'flattening' an image. Flattening occurs when 'stamping up' layers (via shitf+ctrl+alt+E), using the export command, document menu (then flatten). Could turning off Export 'Preview' (no option) prevent this perhaps? I've seen others complain about this. I've checked for crash reports but couldn't even see a folder for 2.2.1, only folders that were there, were for 1.0 and 2.0 (BETA). Is there a fix please? Its the only problem I have with Affinity Photo. Cheers, Alan. VID_20231030_220940.mp4
  3. Some answers, hopefully for everyone… yes, black and white adjustment layer. RGB image 16 bit clarifying that it is bw adjustment in photo persona and not develop persona Hope this helps further. you could be right that it is the brightening of darker tones causing the problem. Lightning or darkening of light tones is probably ok . I will investigate
  4. When adding a black and white layer, with a view to then adjusting the brightness of the tones in the ‘colours’ via the properties box, has anyone noticed that for some colours, grain (or noise) is added to the image as a result. my raw images are iso 64 and prior to adding the b/w layer, no other adjustments have been made. has anybody else experienced this ? I also see it in photoshop so it’s not a bug in affinity photo. cheers.
  5. Another suggestion here for implementation here is to add a preview colour. When adjusting the curve, the preview colour lets you see what areas are being affected, rather than guessing …..this preview colour could be turned on or off as well.
  6. Tom Wang, I agree with your suggestion Tom. What a great time saver that would be. Please implement Affinity guys Alan
  7. Hi, When opening a Nikon RAW of image size 8256 x 5504 it opens as that size in photoshop and RGB16 BIT. When opening in Affinity Photo Develop module, its size is different at 8288 x 5520, RGB 32/HDR and the edges of the image have disappeared. My settings in develop assistant are set to RGB/16BIT Why is this happening ? Thanks Alan Affinity screenshot Photoshop Screenshot
  8. This is a feedback forum to improve Affinity. Unfortunately there tends to be a few with chips on their shoulders.
  9. I stumbled upon this YouTube link where some areas for improvement are discussed. I think it’s worth a watch for the developers and I also tend to agree with him…. cheers
  10. Hi @Callum, I have tried both MSI and exe files. I noticed a 50% improvement in slider lag. however, I accidentally noticed that the lag is reduced only when the navigator window is in use. If navigator is closed, the lag returns….. maybe the software guys could pin point…. I also checked non beta Affinity 2 and it also improves lag if navigator is open ! cheers
  11. Hi @Callum yes, I will download and get back to you cheers
  12. Hi @Callum, please see attached video. I have the renderer set to be my video card. The other option is warp which I have not tried. Rendering performance is set to automatic, but I have also tried low and high performance, but it’s the same cheers IMG_4982.MOV
  13. Hi @Callum , It happens with all files and I have tried disabling hardware acceleration (OCL) and it is still the same. What I can see though when looking at CPU usage in task manager is the cpu running up to about 80% utilisation….. I could maybe video it happening if that would help …..if its possible to upload the video… cheers
  14. On Affinity 2, when adding a levels adjustment layer and adjusting the white level slider, to the left then right, I’m noticing lag in the slider position as it is catching up with the mouse position. I'm running an i7 @ 3.6 MHz, with 16gb Ram and a Nvidia 3060 12Gb ram with hardware acceleration enabled…. Any idea why this could be happening ? cheers
  15. Can the Raw Development Persona be looked at to give further improvements/ functions in line with what other big name software companies raw development software provide. It’s well known from comparison tests that there is more detail in the Raw file which produces premium results when taking into the next stage of processing… cheers
  16. Carl123, I’m asking for it to be an option. The default option would be disabled for people with your opinion. People with my opinion, can enable the option. that’s what options are designed for. Nobody’s asking for your opinion anyway. This is a suggestions forum, not a discussion forum.
  17. Thanks Psenda, I am talking about when the adjustment layer is immediately added. I do understand that when you start painting with a black brush the white layer mask appears. What im asking for is an option for the white mask to be shown immediately when the adjustment layer is added
  18. Can we have an option within the Assistant, to show a white mask alongside an adjustment layer when it is added. it is currently not obvious (without searching through help file) that the adjustment layer mask is automatically added. I spent an hour or so determining this, .cheers
  19. When saving an opened 45mb raw file to afphoto with no changes, why is the afphoto file size so small ? (Less than 1mb, from a 45mb raw file). Cheers
  20. Is there a maintained list or other list of GPU cards that have been able to support hardware acceleration….?
