Photo 1714 has weird issues with Wacom Intuos S tablet

Recommended Posts

(I've not seen this in 2.04 retail, seems normal there.)

2.1 beta 1714, Windows 11, Wacom Intuos S CTL-4100, driver 6.4.1-2 (no newer updates are shown as available by Wacom)

I've not tested every tool but e.g., when using the Inpainting brush with the tablet, quite often it suddenly starts painting by itself, even though I'm not touching the tablet surface. Also it's not unusual for it to "stick" in paint mode even if I press Alt, Esc, Enter, spacebar, etc - Pretty much any key, but nothing cancels painting. I have to click the mouse to return to normality. Sometimes when I spacebar+drag (draw) to invoke the Hand tool and move the image, instead it paints.

I haven't seen this before 1714, but I can't absolutely guarantee it didn't happen (just didn't happen to me). To reiterate, I've not once seen it happen with 2.0.4 or prior retail versions. Just 1714 beta so far.

Thanks.

I use a much older Intuos 3 Small, and so far have not managed to replicate this.

In AP look at the Settings>Tools for Tablet Input Method. There's 3 options, Low Precision, High Precision, or Windows Ink. Try changing it. If it's set to High, change it to Low, and test it. If no improvement, change it to Windows Ink, and again test. Of course the app requires restarting each time you change those.

I can do that, but the point I was making (one point, at least) was that the current retail 2.0.4 doesn't have the issue. So rather than cripple my config (I have it set to high precision for a reason) it would be nice to get it fixed. I've never gotten good results from Windows Ink, BTW.

But I'll take a look...

I have seen this on my windows machine that the inpainting brush tool would paint a long line across the screen without inputting it which is weird.
