Affinity Publisher Beta won't open

Recommended Posts

Hi @Nadine_A and welcome to the forums...

Try holding the Ctrl key when launching Publisher and when the Clear User Data window pops up, uncheck Reset Sudio but leave the other two items checked and then click Clear. Publisher 'should' then launch but if not let us know so we can investigate further...

Which version of Mac or Windows are you running Publisher on?

Affinity Designer 1.7.3 | Affinity Photo 1.7.3 | Affinity Publisher 1.10.6

Hi Hangman,

thanks a lot for the tip. Sorry forgot to mention, that I have a MacBook Pro with Ventura 13.2.1.
Publisher Beta worked perfectly yesterday, I had no issues at all....

Thanks for your help!

try renaming the following file      /Users/<username>/Library/Application Support/Affinity Publisher 2 Beta/mru.dat

Hey Paul, thanks for your feedback. I am afraid but I cannot find the path on my Mac. I also tried the search field without any result.

Forgot to mention, that I followed your advice and unchecked the box. But the app still won't open.

Hi Nadine,

No problem, thanks for letting me know...

To locate the file @Pauls is referring to if you go to the Finder on your Mac and then hold the Alt key on your keyboard while selecting the Go menu, you will see the addition of Library in the list of options.

Select Library and then you will be able to select the other folders in the file path, i.e., Application Support/Affinity Publisher 2/mru.dat

It's perhaps a little easier when viewing files in Column View...

Thanks so much @Hangman and @Pauls . I found the file. To what should I rename the file?

I would perhaps name it something like mru(org).dat

its something we're hoping to get fixed in the next beta

This is probably the same issue so I didn't start a new thread. I started Publisher and then pressed Cmd+N which crashed Publisher. I repeated this a few times. I then deleted mru.dat and it worked fine. Here's a crash report in case it's useful.
