A file with a placed image is blurred when opened, and only becomes clear when clicked

Struggling to see what the problem is. Does it export as PDF ok or are you seeing low resolution on export?

I can't see the issue in the video either but there's a known bug with linked PDF files set to Interpret not being interpreted until you select the layer. When it's not interpreted just the low resolution preview is shown but since it's scaled large it looks blurry. Perhaps you're experiencing a similar issue with your file.

Serif is aware of this one so hopefully it will be fixed soon. But in the meantime, this is the easiest bug to work around - just click the layer and it will be interpreted and shown at full resolution.

This is not a good solution when there are many images
