Main view much too bright, flickering

As you can see on this video, the main screen is usually shown much too bright. It sometimes switches to normal when moving the cursor in and out. I have no idea where this one comes from and would be very happy if someone knows how to stop this.
I use Affinity photo 2.0.4. on a Macboob M2 Ventura 13.1

Hey @zeichner welcome to the forums,

Could you try disabling Hardware Acceleration (The last tickbox) and setting 'Display' to 'OpenGL' under Preferences > Performance and then restart the app to see if this continues?

Hi All, I encountered the same problem. Apple MacMini M2 Pro, 32 GB memory.  MacOS Ventura 13.3.0

Affinity Photo2 v2.0.4
Affinity Photo2 Beta 2.1.0.1742

• Bug manifests in both versions. When Metal is checked I get random cycling between normal & washed out image. Really puzzled me too.

Never thought to look at the Performance settings. Using Software or Open GL –> normal & stable.
