Affinity Designer installation on Windows Server

Unfortunately, I just found out that Affinity Designer v2 cannot be installed on Windows Server 2019. With v1 it was still possible without any problems. Now I have to set up a VM especially for v2 - very annoying.

This is something we're aware of and are we're currently investigating to see what's possible. We'll keep you updated via email if/when we have an update on this.

Any update on this one? I have the same issue with both Photo and Designer on a windows server 2022 and I really need to be able to use them in a server environment.

Our forthcoming 2.1 update will be available as an unsandboxed EXE which will now install and run on Windows 10 LTSC 1809, where the release build 2.0.4 did not.

If you want to try the unsandboxed beta it is available by joining the beta program.

We have not tried this recent change on Windows Server 2022 so would be keen to know your findings. I would have expected the sandboxed MSIX would have installed and run, and the same for the unsandboxed EXE. We will also set up a VM here and see for ourselves

Affinity Photo latest stable version works on a standalone Windows Server 2022 (DataCenter edition), anyway it is not working on an AWS EC2 instance (same OS).

The new beta works on both standalone machine and EC2 instance (Windows Server 2022 DataCenter).
