Nothing in the helpmenu unfortunately about this.  I need to manually remove a number of misspelt words from the dictionary but I can not find how to do this.

Thank you

Microsoft - Like entering your home and opening the stainless steel kitchen door, with a Popup: 'Do you really want to open this door'? Then looking for the dishwasher and finding it stored in the living room where you have to download a water supply from the app store, then you have to buy microsoft compliant soap, remove the carpet only to be told that it is glued to the floor.. Don't forget to make multiple copies of your front door key and post them to all who demand access to all the doors inside your home including the windows and outside shed.

Apple - Like entering your home and opening the oak framed Kitchen door and finding the dishwasher right in front you ready to be switched on, soap supplied, and water that comes through a water softener.  Ah the front door key is yours and it only needs to open the front door.

If these are words that you have used "Learn Spelling" on then they are stored in dictionary.propcol which is here

%AppData%\Affinity\Publisher\1.0\user

It's not editable and the only way to unlearn words is to type them into a text box, right click and choose Unlearn

The file can be opened in a text editor and you'll be able to spot the words amongst the gibberish with a bit of searching eg
+emaN   техничеÑкииDIU_   DIUO    1porP    lluN   porP       feLP+emaN   transmogrifateDIU_   DIUO

That's for windows, no idea about the others. Good luck

Additionally to what David already showed above, here are some references to the common hunspell (which is used in Affinity) spell checker project ...

For the common on an OS installed hunspell tool it's man pages tell it's overall usage and file format ...

  • man 5 hunspell  (hunspell - format of Hunspell dictionaries and affix files)

Usually if dealing with the common (default textual) hunspell ".dic" files, you would open just the ".dic" file and remove the misspelled words there. Other apps/tools which use hunspell also keep the personal word lists editable, so offering support to remove/delete words from personal word list too. - Affinity seems not to offer this right now!
