In the Marco, the command is also not differentiated from "New pattern layer". A paste from the current selection in the current document is expected. Quote

During macro recording, all filters and adjustments "bake in" the used image / pixel content (where applicable, e.g. lighting, diffuse, etc). In contrast to numeric or slider info, there is no ways to replaces recorded content.
