illostraight
Is there a way to select an area of a photo and have only that area fill with a colour overlay and not the entire image? TY.
GarryP
Can you explain more about what mean by “select an area” and “a colour overlay”? There are probably lots of ways to do what you want so the more we know about what you are trying to do, and what you are trying to do it to, the better help we can give. If you can supply one or more images which help with the explanation then that’s usually good.

TY. Well, just add a pixel layer, and paint with the color you want. If you have a selection active, you may use the fill tool. or add any vector shape, and give it a fill color. To summarize, don't use layer fx / fill. Use a separate layer above or nested as child layer instead. illostraight 1 Quote Mac mini M1 A2348 LG34WK950U-W, calibrated to DCI-P3 with LG Calibration Studio / Spider 5 iPad Air Gen 5 (2022) A2589 Special interest into procedural texture filter, edit alpha channel, RGB/16 and RGB/32 color formats, stacking, finding root causes for misbehaving files, finding creative solutions for unsolvable tasks, finding bugs in Apps.
