Bernie Lautner Posted January 22, 2023 Posted January 22, 2023 RIght now you can’t convert text to outlines before opening or importing a file into affinity designer. You still have to use adobe acrobat to do this. There should be an option on opening a file to convert texts to outlines or curves. loukash 1 Quote
GarryP Posted January 23, 2023 Posted January 23, 2023 Can you explain what you mean by “a file” please? Designer, and the other Affinity applications, can open all kinds of files so it’s probably better if you explain more about what you want, why you want it, and how the user would control what happens. Also, would this just be for Designer, or Photo and/or Publisher too? Quote

Probably talking about Opening PDF file that uses fonts that aren't installed locally. Some applications can convert the text to curves while opening. They aren't editable as text any more, but they look correct as no font substitution is needed. loukash 1 Quote -- Walt Designer, Photo, and Publisher V1 and V2 at latest retail and beta releases PC: Desktop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 64GB memory, AMD Ryzen 9 5900 12-Core @ 3.00 GHz, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Laptop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 32GB memory, Intel Core i7-10750H @ 2.60GHz, Intel UHD Graphics Comet Lake GT2 and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU.
