NotMyFault Posted January 21, 2023 Posted January 21, 2023 It would be very handy if Affinity apps can collect and export all data which are always asked for in case of bug reports: Version of app Version of OS all relevant settings like performance, Assistant Settings, ... Results of performance benchmark Ideally, as plain text files. The user can then inspect these files, remove unwanted private data (like users real name in folders), and upload the file when opening a bug report. I explicitly do not ask for more automation, e.g. directly creating bug reports form Apps, or auto-upload those files. This would save so much time for all involved: users today need to make multiple screen shots moderators need to ask over and over again for missing details In case of existing reports, it becomes hard to see if what versions were active when the bug report was created. loukash and MikeTO 2 Quote Mac mini M1 A2348 | MBP M3 Windows 11 - AMD Ryzen 9 5900x - 32 GB RAM - Nvidia GTX 1080 LG34WK950U-W, calibrated to DCI-P3 with LG Calibration Studio / Spider 5 | Dell 27“ 4K iPad Air Gen 5 (2022) A2589 Special interest into procedural texture filter, edit alpha channel, RGB/16 and RGB/32 color formats, stacking, finding root causes for misbehaving files, finding creative solutions for unsolvable tasks, finding bugs in Apps. MikeTO Posted January 21, 2023 Posted January 21, 2023 I like this idea. Maybe a Help menu command that copies OS and app versions, relevant settings, system info, and document location to the clipboard. It could show the collected data in a dialog with a button to copy it to the clipboard, along with a static tip on pasting the copied data into an email or forum post. I think the data could avoid any user sensitive information so there would be no need to edit it. For example, it could just state iCloud, Dropbox, Azure or whatever for a cloud drive.
