Darner Posted January 14, 2023 Posted January 14, 2023 Anyone know to what extent it means with the new promotion of "create your customised typography" in Affinity Designer V2? Is it only options for adjusting typeface, or can you create your fully customised typography within Affinity Designer without the need of a third party app? If that is the case, can anyone elaborate? See attached for the promo that is referred to. Thank you! Quote

You cannot create fonts directly in the Affinity applications, if that’s what you are asking. The promotional material is basically saying that you can make text look different in more ways than before but there’s no ‘real’ typography creation/manipulation tools like you would get in a dedicated font designer. For typography, in a nutshell: It’s Designer V1 with some extra warping tools. Quote

JohnnyN Posted January 18, 2023 Posted January 18, 2023 As far as I know Photoshop is the only tool for making advanced typography effects that are still editable. I use this online tool https://www.mockofun.com/templates/text/text-styles/ to make text styles and save them as PNG images. However the PNG text is no longer editable. Quote

You just have to understand and master your tools first. There is no 1-click "Telepathy Mode" button in Affinity.
