How do I change the user interface color?

New Affinity user. I REALLY hate dark mode. It's hard for me to read. I've gone into the preferences (I'm on a Mac) > User Interface > moved the sliders down on the background and artboard, and nothing is changing! Can anyone help me?

BUT, do the sliders for the background and artboard do nothing? I do like a little gray.

And I clicked the option for colored icons, and they're not colored.

I'm not on the V2 app line, so can't tell if something is maybe broken here. - Did you already closed and restarted the coresponding Affinity app(s), in order to see if the made prefs changes are possibly then applied?

Yes, I tried that. It didn't work.

Do you have a document open? That will definitely anffect the icon display.

And for Artboard background, do you have Artboards?

No, I don't have a document open. I was just setting up my interface. Okay, so the interface is essentially white or dark. No in between options, like in Adobe.

I figured the color applied to those icons. Thank you for confirming.

Okay, I think I'm getting the hang of this. Much more learning curve to come. 🙂
