Hi,

Just downloaded the V2 versions of all three programs and seem to be having issues with Publisher and Designer - running on Mac OS Ventura 13.1

Publisher is becoming 'unresponsive' when trying to load a file and Desingner corrupts the file when saved, closed and re-opened.

Publisher is becoming 'unresponsive' when trying to load a file and Desingner corrupts the file when saved, closed and re-opened.

I have now deleted and reloaded all three programs and have taken screenshots of the Designer issue. The shapes were drawn and the square and circle together made into a group. The Icons were made from a drawn rounded circle with the image copied from the Help files. As you can see, after saving and re-opening the Icons have all become the same!

Hope someone can explain this - or fix it!

Deleting and reinstalling the apps usually doesn't change anything.
What rather helps is to reset app settings to default values:

  1. quit the offending Affinity application
  2. relaunch while holding the ctrl key
  3. in the window you see now, select the parameters you want to reset

That said…
I don't think it will help in this case because:

I have tested exactly the same scenario, and get the same odd result as you did. It's a bug that has something to do with the embedded images having exactly the same file name:

For comparison, that doesn't affect the same kind of scenario in v1:

@TimeTwister

Welcome to the Serif Affinity forums :)

Thank you for your report of this bug. Please can you confirm that your document was created by copy and pasting the images via your clipboard ?  If so I think that you are seeing this problem which affects all our applications on all operating systems, when the files are the same dimensions and were added to the Affinity document in 2.0.0 via Paste. Sorry this was not caught before release.

You can go back to using ADe 2.0.0 available from this page, and APu 2.0.0 available from this page as a work around till this is fixed in the next update.

Sorry that you have experienced this problem with the 2.0.3 release of the Affinity Suite.

We have now released 2.0.4 on all platforms, and using that build this problem no longer occurs.

Unfortunately if 2.0.3 was used to SAVE your file, those replaced images will need the original images be reinserted/pasted into your files, sorry.
