marunr Posted December 21, 2022 Posted December 21, 2022 I am unable to get the duplicate feature to work correctly. After it duplicates 5 images it starts deleting from the first one, so that I can only end up with 6 images. What am I doing wrong? Quote

What OS, MAC or Windows? What version ? What are you referring to as the duplicate feature? Power Duplicate? How are you duplicating? I've never heard of any of the apps to delete while trying to duplicate. Is it possible for you to provide a screen capture so we can see what's happening? marunr Posted December 23, 2022 Author Posted December 23, 2022 (edited) Thanks. I'm using Affinity Designer 2.03 and Windows 10. I'm referring to the "duplicate selection" under the edit tab, which is keyboard shortcut ctrl J. I can't get a screen capture because the function requires that I keep the ctrl button depressed to make the duplicates, so I can't release it to capture the screen. Make a short screenrecording instead, you can use tons of free screenrecorders for Win for that. - Other than that, you can also perform a duplicate via the top "Edit -> Duplicate" menu entry, or on the layers panel for selected layers there (see the context right click menu there in the layers panel). marunr Posted December 23, 2022 Author Posted December 23, 2022 Okay, so it turns out that they were not deleted. It's just that the stroke was a hairline, which is invisible in this program unless you look at a wireframe view. Thanks. Quote

A zoom-in should show too and you possibly didn't assigned any/or a bigger enabled stroke value then. As far as I know it does not require that you keep Ctrl pressed. It does require that you keep the last object selected, however. 7 minutes ago, marunr said: Okay, so it turns out that they were not deleted. Probably, then, you were seeing Snapping Candidates highlighted in magenta, and when you got enough duplicates that you exceeded the Snapping Candidate limit the older ones lost their highlighting. No I didn't, because this was designed by the customer as a laser cut file which requires a hairline stroke (at least on an Epilog laser) Quote
