Elementary question of Cut Out using Affinity Photo still difficult to execute ?

Hi Guys,

I know maybe this is very elementary, but trust me you guys I have been trying very hard all that I learnt from here still could not find a way out of this on how to do this. So I just want a cut out of the thought icon from this image. Right now it has this white background box on which it is pasted. is there anyways that I can only have this Thought icon as a cut out image ?

Use the Erase Brush Tool to erase the lightbulb

Filters > Colours > Erase White Paper to remove the white background and leave a transparent thought bubble

I want the Bulb also with the thought bubble. Just do not want the white background square around it.

I have used your method and used Filters-Colours Remove white color but in the end result it still shows me the Chess kind of grey and white checkered boxes ? is that a Transparent Image when I use it on there things ?

This (checkerboard, not checkboxes) is indication of Transparent background. This not included in your image.

But generally when I open a Transparent background image if it is transparent it does not show such checker board when I open it the background becomes black/transparent. which does not happen in this case ?

Try create New Document with/without Transparent background options.
