Chris_.
Bug: Scroll wheel scrolling does not work on panel, specifically Character and Paragraph panels. Required: Computer mouse with a scroll wheel such as Logitech, Microsoft, or cheap 3rd party with generic scroll wheel (I have specifically "J-Tech Digital Wired Ergonomic Vertical USB Mouse" first results on Google/Amazon). No specific mouse driver is used for the mouse I have. Also Apple Magic Trackpad. Reproduction: Open a new document. Set up your panels so that on the right side you have color at the top, then Character and Paragraph together as 2 overlapping, then at the bottom Transform panel. In the Character or Paragraph panel, unfold all the options (ie typography, language, optical alignment; or tab stops, bullets and numbering, hyphenation, and more) so that inside of that group, you must scroll to get to all of the options. Using a mouse with a scroll wheel, attempt to scroll inside of the Character or Paragraph panel. Expected: When cursor is inside of the bounds of the Character or Paragraph panel, the scroll wheel would move the panel contents up and down so any control can be seen and used. Actual: Scroll wheel does nothing when inside the panel. Hovering over the scroll handle (on the right edge) also does not function. Scrolling can only be achieved by grabbing the scroll bar (mouse down and holding) and moving it. Other regression: Using an Apple Magic Trackpad works correctly to scroll with 2 fingers inside the view. Publisher v2.0.0, MacOS 12.6.1 See video included which includes English audio description. walt.farrell
I think that's intentional. If the mouse cursor happened to be over one of the fields in the panel there's a strong likelihood of making an unintentional change that might be difficult to notice and difficult to recover from when you do finally notice. V1 had the same restriction, I believe. Staff Sean P Posted January 16, 2023 Staff Share Posted January 16, 2023 Walt is correct - because of the large amount of scrollers in the panel, it is far to easy to accidentally alter the value of those, so the scroll wheel scroll was turned off for the panel. walt.farrell
