Hi @cheehero welcome to the forums,

Apologies on the late reply,

Could you confirm if you're still experiencing this issue after updating to the latest version (2.0.4).

If it's still happening, could you provide me with a sample .afdesign file where you're experiencing this issue after exporting to PDF?

Many thanks!

Um, I'm not sure if this is font or OS specific but I'm not seeing the issue having tried several different fonts in 2.0.4 but maybe I'm missing a step somewhere?

@Mats-Ola, are you able to upload a sample file and confirm which font/s and which version of macOS you're experiencing the issue with?

Affinity Designer 2.5.5 | Affinity Photo 2.5.5 | Affinity Publisher 2.5.5
MacBook Pro M3 Max, 36 GB Unified Memory, macOS Sonoma 14.6.1, Magic Mouse
HP ENVY x360, 8 GB RAM, AMD Ryzen 5 2500U, Windows 10 Home, Logitech Mouse

Hi!

It was Helvetica Neue, Bold. Document was converted from v1.

However, when I create a new document in v2 and use the same font, it works!

I am attaching a stripped version of the original document with the problem.

MacOS Ventura 13.1, Affinity Designer v2.0.4 on a MacBook Pro M1 Max.

Thanks for the additional information, this appears to be the issue, i.e., the conversion from V1 to V2... I have a feeling this has already been reported and logged as a bug but perhaps someone from the moderation team can confirm this is the case...

In my screen recording above everything was created in V2 resulting in no issues but having now created this in V1, opened the file in V2 and exported to pdf I'm seeing the same issue...

In V1

  • Top Text - Editable Artistic Text
  • Middle Text - Artistic Text Converted to Curves
  • Bottom Text - Artistic Text Converted to Curves and then Expand Stroke Applied
  • Exported to a pdf file

In V2

  • Open the V1 Affinity Designer file
  • Exported to a pdf file

Result

V1 Exported PDF Left | V2 Exported PDF Right
