Crash when pressing 'Add Preset' on recolour FX

Recommended Posts

In Publisher 2 I wanted to add a Preset for a given recolouring of a photo (image included in a picture frame). When pressing the 'add preset' button, Affinity Publisher crashes. This happens in the Publisher persona. It seems to work in the Photo persona.

Couldn't replicate it on Mac tho, only on Windows.

On macOS (at least on Ventura, running Publisher in native M-mode, and Photo in Rosetta mode), adding an adjustment preset in Publisher (while staying in Publisher Persona) does not seem to add a preset in the Adjustments panel, so in order to have an adjustment added as a preset on macOS it seems you need to switch to Photo Persona (in which mode the preset can also be added on Windows without causing a crash).

Yet another malfunction that makes a user jump through hoops to make a thing work.

Yes, I do not see the point of allowing adding adjustment presets within Publisher without presenting the Adjustments panel while staying in Publisher Persona? If adding adjustment presets is not possible without having Photo installed, the button should be hidden in Publisher. If Photo is not needed, then why force switching the Persona to access the Adjustments panel?

The issue "Adding a preset to an Adjustment Layer will cause the app to crash" (REF: AFB-7306) has now been fixed by the developers.
This fix is included in build 2.1.0.1709 (or later) which is already available as a customer beta and will be included in the next release.
Customer beta builds are announced here and you can participate by following these instructions.

If you still experience this problem once you are using that build version (or later) please make a new thread referencing this one.
