oliver_fuchs Posted November 22, 2022 Posted November 22, 2022 Hi, I am not quiet sure if this is intended or if there is something missing! As far as I can remember in Affinity Photo V1 (soooo long ago) the symbol of the Deselect option was shining red (lighter red) when there was the possibility to deselect something. In V2 this symbol isn't doing nothing! Why I complain? Today I used the Flood Select Tool and selected a very tiny part ... somehow I decided to do nothing with this part - and changed to the Erase Brush Tool - and the eraser did not erased anything!!!! It took a while until I noticed that there was still this tiny little piece selected - but I had no chance to notice it. Wouldn't it be nice if the Red cross symbol was colored in strong red (or something like this) to indicate that there is still something selected. And I am pretty sure in V1 that was the case!!! Greetings Oliver Quote

In V2 this symbol isn't doing nothing! It seems to work as expected for me (Windows). The only difference between V1 and V2 is the symbol. But both have the colour red. Are you perhaps on Mac? Quote

On Mac / V1 this button does never indicate whether something is selected or not, it always appears in the same 1 look, except for the darkened moment while it is pressed. oliver_fuchs 1 Quote macOS 10.14.6 | MacBookPro Retina 15" | Eizo 27" | Affinity V1
Michail Posted January 11, 2023 Posted January 11, 2023 @thomaso: It's like Windows and probably intentional. I understood the OP to say that the icon in V2 is generally no longer coloured. oliver_fuchs 1 Quote
oliver_fuchs Posted January 11, 2023 Author Posted January 11, 2023 Hi, yes ... it was my fault ... I installed Affinity Photo Version 1 on Windows again ... the color is not changing if something is selected ... mhm ... but I was soooo sure about it ... anyway ... it would be a nice feature if the icon would be highlighted ... sometimes you are working on very small selections and you have to zoom in very strong ... you move around ... so that there is a chance to "lose" a selected area ... but .... thanx for answering!!!!! To me the OP mentioned literally a visual interface response ("shining") IF something IS selected: On 11/22/2022 at 8:28 PM, oliver_fuchs said: in Affinity Photo V1 (soooo long ago) the symbol of the Deselect option was shining red (lighter red) when there was the possibility to deselect something oliver_fuchs 1 Quote macOS 10.14.6 | MacBookPro Retina 15" | Eizo 27" | Affinity V1
oliver_fuchs Posted January 11, 2023 Author Posted January 11, 2023 Yes, I was pretty sure about that ... "shining red (lighter red) when there was the possibility to deselect something" ... but it was not the case!!! Quote
