frepo
Did you create that document in Publisher 2 on this machine, or did it come from somewhere else? If it came from somewhere else, please provide more details. Also, what OS do you use? frepo 1 Quote -- Walt Designer, Photo, and Publisher V1 and V2 at latest retail and beta releases PC: Desktop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 64GB memory, AMD Ryzen 9 5900 12-Core @ 3.00 GHz, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Laptop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 32GB memory, Intel Core i7-10750H @ 2.60GHz, Intel UHD Graphics Comet Lake GT2 and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU. frepo
Hello, the document was originally created on my MacBook Pro with Publisher version 1.10.5. Operating system macOS Monterey version 12.6, Mac mini (2018). Then opened and saved with the new version 2.0.0. During the subsequent editing, it always happened again that the document could not be saved. My support request said it could not be related to the Publisher software. I then ported the document and all linked objects to my new MacStudio - also Monterey 12.6, where there were initially no saving problems. But after editing progressed, it happened again that the document could not be saved. After reopening the document, editing and saving was possible again. I then tried to export this document to PDF. Not possible. Thereupon I realized the step by step saving of each 50 pages the export, until again a saving of the PDF was not possible. I then step by step found the presumably faulty page by exporting page by page to PDF. On this page were two forms that went grouped over both pages. After I removed them, the whole document of 287 pages could be exported to PDF again. Save errors no longer occurred. In the check I now found these three fonts marked in red. Because of your message I tried again and saved the file as a package. When opening the package on the same computer, after opening the file comes the message that the file is defective and with OK this file is closed. Then I copied the package to my old MacBook. There the file is opened without errors. I can not understand all this. Another note in the directory Fonts of the package appears a font with Asian characters. How can I search for this font in my document? walt.farrell
MikeTO
The SFNS font is San Francisco, the macOS standard font. You might try searching (using Find and Replace) for all instances of each of the SF family of fonts. You should have all the fonts shown in this screenshot. I searched the forums for issues with SFNS and I came across one which Serif helped resolve for somebody else by asking them to turn off File > Save History with Document. Do you have this option enabled? If so, try turning it off and then choosing File > Save As to create a new file. frepo 1 Quote Download a free PDF manual for Affinity Publisher 2.5 Download a quick reference chart for Affinity's Special Characters Affinity 2.5 for macOS Sequoia 15.0.1, MacBook Pro 14" (M1 Pro)
frepo
Helo, thank you very much for your effort. I followed all your instructions, so with the search-and-replace function I searched all the fonts you mentioned. Result: no results. The fonts you mentioned were not on my system. I then searched for them and installed them. No solution. I then searched how to search for fonts in Publisher and found a post by "Joachim_L" Posted July 2, 2021, https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/145157-affinity-publisher-fehlende-schrift-in-der-checkliste/ There was the solution. Publisher also searches in a connected PDF object. I have now removed that and: Error fixed. Unbelievable. Many, many thanks.
