When I have first opened v2 app it asked me to import content but after 20min I have give up and force close app. When I open it second time no option but I can't find some option to import or migrate all custom stuff from v1 and assets are empty. I do not willing to have v1 and v2 installed on my comp only for this. Any how to highly appreciated. walt.farrell Posted November 15, 2022 Posted November 15, 2022 You either have to export them manually from V1, using the respective panels, or try the content migration again. It could take a significant amount of time depending on how much content you have. (There is also at least one current report of macOS imposing limits on the amount of I/O an app can do within a day and a theory that trying to exceed those limits will cause apps to hang. Not sure if this is relevant for you.) You can press and hold the Ctrl key when starting a V2 app, and you'll get a Clear User Data dialog. Uncheck the top 3 items, and Check the item Reset Content Migration Prompt, then press Clear. You should get the prompt again. If you do need to manually export/import, you don't need to worry about anything you purchased from the Affinity Store. Only things you created yourself, or obtained from outside the Store. Brushes you would export from the Brushes panel, Assets from the Assets panel, etc. Templates are in a folder in your file system, and you could just copy them from there or simply point V2 to your V1 templates folder. I have already started manual transfer process 🤯 I love new update but setting up everything from scratch like user settings all my custom files etc. etc. it is a bit ... should not be in 2022 transfer easier than manually set it up again from scratch? 🤔. You could let it try the automatic again. It's not perfect. But if the problem is that you have a lot of data, and macOS is sandboxing you, there's probably not much Serif can do about it. Where did you purchase V1 from, and where did you purchase V2 from? Mac App Store, or Affinity Store? Now I have issue that importing exported assets freeze comp and got lollipop of death. I will take several hours to make it work (if ...) otherwise I have to wait for fixes to be able to use V2. But I was expecting some hickups due to the method my v1 apps are "installed" on the Catalina partition: in fact they aren't installed there at all… Instead, I'm using some symbolic link (UNIX alias) magic while the v1 apps actually live on the El Capitan partition. That also includes all corresponding non-sandboxed folders. Installation run all night and today morning I had to force quit app this mean installation of purchased assets from account failed. It is NOT POSSIBLE INSTALL ANY PURCHASES from my account nor custom assets as installation always fail. I have give up on this and I hope to hear about fixes soon so I didn't spend my money on version I can't use. 🙄 I had no issue with installation on secondary comp with Monterey. loukash Posted December 3, 2022 Posted December 3, 2022 I haven't installed the stuff – freebies only – from my Serif account in v2 on Catalina because I never need them anyway, and because I already have them offline in a separate folder in order to avoid the v1 gigabytes of bloat by downloading them yet another three times. But test-installing one freebie set of assets that has less than 1 MB worked for me. The only odd thing I'm noticing on Catalina (I don't have a Mac that can run anything newer than that so I can't compare) is that I can only access "My Account" when a document is open. With no document open, the menu item is grayed out. Not sure if this is a bug or "by design". I don't know what that might be but just guessing it might be some kind of permissions issue, a problem with the file system on your Mac, or maybe a 3rd party helper or the like app or browser extension you have installed that is somehow conflicting with the downloads.
