GregV
Last year using Affinity Publisher version 1 I developed a lengthy cookbook based on sections. Version 2 of Publisher allows the creation of books using individual chapters that can be compiled into a single Publisher document and that can be easily rearranged by dragging and dropping. I am frequently adding new content to the cookbook. Would it be better to reformat my book using individual chapters versus individual sections? It would take some effort but I am wondering if there would be long term advantages to converting to a book with chapters. Thanks!
Old Bruce
This is a very good question. If it was me, I would go the route of Chapters into a Book simply because the cookbook is going to have a lot of photos and illustrations, plus I'd be adding or updating recipes to different parts. Just be easier to keep all the Cakes separate from the Soups when they are two separate files. jmwellborn and GregV 2 Quote Mac Pro (Late 2013) Mac OS 12.7.4 Affinity Designer 2.4.1 | Affinity Photo 2.4.1 | Affinity Publisher 2.4.1 | Beta versions as they appear. MikeTO
I'd say do it for a new book but if you've already got it set up and working I'd leave it alone, it's not worth the hassle. The advantages of splitting it up are performance and the ability to work on one chapter while somebody else edits another. My book is already set up and I'm satisfied with the performance so I don't plan to split it up now. jmwellborn and GregV 2 Quote Download a free manual for Publisher 2.4 from this forum - expanded 300-page PDF My system: Affinity 2.4.2 for macOS Sonoma 14.5, MacBook Pro 14" (M1 Pro)
