carca Posted November 13, 2022 Posted November 13, 2022 When I opened my canon raw files in V1 no image was shown (on the thumbnail-the image itself would of course open, once chosen but it is not possible to see in the first place which image I open). It seems that this has not changed in version 2... Have I forgotten something? Carca Quote
walt.farrell Posted November 13, 2022 Posted November 13, 2022 Photo does not show thumbnails. That's the responsibility of Windows File Explorer, or really of a Codec that you have installed on your system. Microsoft provides a Codec for Raw-file thumbnails in the Microsoft Store, and it's free if I remember correctly. Or there are some available for a charge from other vendors. I'll have to be back at my computer (later) to provide more info. Or someone else may provide it. You also need to make sure you've set the right View options in File Explorer: medium icons or larger, I think. Other settings won't show them. - S - Posted November 13, 2022 Posted November 13, 2022 As Walt mentioned, Windows File Explorer camera raw codecs are no longer distributed through Windows updates. You need to install the "Raw Image Extension" from the Microsoft Store. https://www.microsoft.com/store/productId/9NCTDW2W1BH8 walt.farrell 1 Quote

Saves me looking it up The other one I use is https://www.fastpictureviewer.com/codecs/ but I would start with the free one from Microsoft and see if it handles what you need. carca Posted November 13, 2022 Author Posted November 13, 2022 Yesss! it works!! thanks for both of you and it just shows how little I understand from the windows system... By the way, my next problem is the fact that although I may zoom in and out without any problem in the main AffPhoto2 screen, I do not succeed in zooming on the control photo apearing within the new export screen. And this although I have tried to set the short cut preferences on view/zoom, giving it a specific short cut. It just does not work. Is this a windows problem too? carca Quote
