Different result on Master and refered pages

I found a mismatch in the behaviour between Master page and referred pages in Publisher when using Photos and the Photo App for masking. I did the same in Version 1.10. there was no difference and the referred pages were correct.

First, my workflow (I'm using german version; I hope, my translation of the menue ist correct).

1. I add a landscape photo (including some sky) to a Master page (including a darker starry sky as a background for better contrast) and position it on the bottom (as a letter layout).
2. I activate studio link to go to Photo App.
3. In the Photo App, I select (with selction brush) only the bottom areas of the photo (for later deleting the sky)
4. When selected, I go to (german) "Verfeinern", may be "refine" in the english version.
5. In the dialogue, I select "new layer with mask" ("neue Ebene mit Maske")
6. As a result, the Sky vanishes, the landscape results.
7. I go back to Publisher App (Studio Link).
8. Result: The Master page shows correctly the landscape without the sky. The referred pages show the complete photo inkludung the skay.

As said, Version 1.10 of Affinity Publisher works correctly. I have a file designed with v.1.10 and one with v.2.0 and according to the sky on the referred pages (not the Master pages) they differ. I add Screenshots of the view of the Master and the referred pages, created with v1 and v2 of Affinity Publisher.

Can you share your V1 and V2 .afpub file with us here? That would help diagnose the problem.

Because the images are refered but not included, I here add the images, too. All files should be in the same folder.

Hi @pquadrat,

Many thanks for providing detail on your issue along with your file. Evidently something has gone wrong during the masking process as after highlighting the mask layer on Page 1 it shows the Mask layer off in the pasteboard area and the layers panel does not indicate that the content on the page has been detached/modified in any way when compared to the master page.

However, after deleting the mask layer on the master page and following your workflow again, i've not been able to replicate this issue yet, as after drawing out my selection in the Photo persona > Refine > New Layer with Mask this then correctly updates with a correctly positioned mask on the associated pages.

If possible, I'd like to request if you could provide us with a screen recording which demonstrates the issue in case i've missed something key during this process. I can provide a private upload link if needed.
