tytus 01UNIT Posted November 12, 2022 Posted November 12, 2022 I'm confused. For sure I didn't see that problem in Affinity 1, because I just switched to 2 after using 1 for years. There is something wrong about selecting object inside of other objects. And I don't see patter here. I just sometimes can't select objects inside of other object if it doesn't have color inside. Strange. MOVE TOOL : SELECT TOOL.mov MOVE TOOL.afdesign Quote
François R Posted November 13, 2022 Posted November 13, 2022 @tytus 01UNIT Not sure how you made the circle originally - or why this happens (probably a bug) - but I discovered this. Select the circle Activate the node tool (A) Select this node, right click it and select Close curve Then it works in Affinity Designer 2.0.0. Other programs let you click through (tested it with your file). Hangman and tytus 01UNIT 2 Quote 1) You have completely wrecked the layers panel, Serif. 2) I recommend Reddit groups instead of this forum. Not the same few bot-like users replying to everything, a wider representation of users, fewer fanboys, more qualified users. In short, better! 3) I was here to report bugs and submit improvement requests for professional work professionally in a large setup and to bring a lot of knowledge from the world, i.e. professional product development, web- and software development, usability, user experience design and accessibility. I actually know what I am talking about! BUT! We are phasing out Designer and Affinity in 2022 Q1 - and replacing it with feature complete and algorithmically competent alternatives. Publisher is unsuitable for serious use, and was never adopted.
Staff Sean P Posted November 23, 2022 Staff Posted November 23, 2022 Hi tytus 01UNIT, Thanks for letting us know and also to François R for the solution! I've reproduced this and passed it on to development. François R 1 Quote
tytus 01UNIT Posted November 24, 2022 Author Posted November 24, 2022 @François R Thank You Francois. Yeah it seems like a bug and I had to work around it. Still occasionally I reproduce that problem. Actually working inside of objects (when I use objects as a masks) is still problematic for me. Especially when I try to to use any "Boolean Operations" (add/subtract etc). Every time when I'm creating a logotype and than I want to "add" everything to one shape... it is very clunky process (I'm about to submit another bug related to that). François R 1 Quote

This fix should soon be available as a customer beta and is planned for inclusion in the next customer release. Customer beta builds are announced here and you can participate by following these instructions. If you still experience this problem once you are using that build version (or later) please reply to this thread including @Serif Info Bot to notify us. Quote
