DR34MER
Hello. First of all, I can’t say enough how excited I am and grateful for the new tools like the shape builder, knife tool, vector warp…etc. So, thank you Serif for listening to us and delivering those much appreciated brand-new goodies 👋. Here are some of the few bugs(?) that I found using the app these past couple of days. 1-Snapping works to a point where it stops. Say for example when duplicating a group of squares, they don’t snap with the original group. 2-When changing fonts through the typography panel, the name of the font converts from English to what I assume is Mandarin. DR34MER
It’s not. I can do this and just did this on Designer 1 without any issues. Snapping works perfectly in the older app. Quote 2020 iPad Pro 12.9 (4th Generation pre-M1 CPU) iPadOS 16.
Staff Sean P Posted November 23, 2022 Staff Share Posted November 23, 2022 Hi DR34MER, It sounds like might be getting caught out by Snapping Candidates. The default snapping options are set to use 6 snapping candidate objects - these are effectively the last 6 objects that were selected. It is then these objects that are used for snapping purposes. If you go into the Snapping Options you can increase this number, along with turning on a purple highlight to show the candidates. I suspect if you tap the bottom right rectangle in the first half of objects and then drag a marquee around the bottom half you should find that you can now snap to that bottom right rectangle. If you would prefer to not use these then you can go to the Snapping Option and change Candidate List to Immediate Layers or Immediate Layers and Children. It will then snap to any objects on the same level or the same level and their child objects respectively. Regarding the Chinese fonts this is something we do have logged with development.
