Hi, i'm not sure of this is posible but i am trying to use a white rectangle with a black filled curve on top and mask it to the Image without rasterizing it into a mask, in version 1 i was able to group it together and it would mask but i can't seem to get the same effect in version 2 ( even with compound mask layer ), any help would be apriciated.

1. The desired way of doing it, with cure still being editable.image.png.f2ff271aa2f5a32c61029c7609751f15.png

2. The desired output by rasterizing the group with i'd like to avoid ;-;image.png.9d253f0b9d9bc717f2b23882489a7229.png

If I correctly understood... You're searching for this scenario maybe?

Sort of composed "live" clipping mask with its independent layers inside?

In this case try this workflow... Works for both Raster/Vectors composed masks.

Hope this helps!
