Rasterizing and masks (split)

Hi, i'm not sure of this is posible but i am trying to use a white rectangle with a black filled curve on top and mask it to the Image without rasterizing it into a mask, in version 1 i was able to group it together and it would mask but i can't seem to get the same effect in version 2 ( even with compound mask layer ), any help would be apriciated.

 

1. The desired way of doing it, with cure still being editable.

 

2. The desired output by rasterizing the group with i'd like to avoid ;-;

Sort of composed "live" clipping mask with its independent layers inside?

In this case try this workflow... Works for both Raster/Vectors composed masks.
