Ashcat Posted November 11, 2022 Posted November 11, 2022 I have an iPad Pro and an iPad mini 5. So, at my iPad Pro I like to use V2 while at my mini 5 V1 will do. All the files are saved in the Cloud so transport from V1 to V2 will not be the problem. So my question is: does V2 overwrite V1 or is it a totally new app? Quote

It’s a separate install and won’t impact V1🙂 Keep in mind V2 can open V1 files but V1 cannot open V2 files. Quote M1 IPad Air 10.9/256GB lpadOS 17.1.1 Apple Pencil (2nd gen). Thanks for the answer! I understand that it is not possible to import files from app V2 directly in app V1 but what if the V2 file is saved in the Cloud? They both, V1 and V2 files, are saved as a psd with layers. Quote

I think PSD files should work to transport the data, but I have not tried it. Remember, though, that any Text (Frame Text, or Art Text) will be rasterized when you export the PSD file, so this is not a perfect solution. Additionally, there are Affinity functions not supported by PSD format, which would also be omitted from the exported file. Save creates proprietary afxxx file. You should be fine. In fact just tried and it worked for. Layers were preserved as pixel layers. Adjustment layers were not carried over.
