tomO2013 Posted November 11, 2022 Posted November 11, 2022 Hi, First of all, well done and congratulations on your new Affinity suite. I really appreciate all the hard work that I can see has obviously gone into this suite and I’m enjoying the UIX updates. There are two features that I feel are holding me back from cancelling my subscription to the other big company who competes with APhoto and those are : - AI Object and subject detection auto-Masking (Intellgient object detection and subject masking). I cannot tell you what a killer feature this for your competition and it’s one that I’d love to see included (even to Mac variant). - A better way to browse my Affinity suite of assets across the apps - Originally I was hoping for something like Lightroom but in hindsight I think something more akin to bridge may be more apt. In any case I’d appreciate if these suggestions could be added to your backlog for APhoto v2 for downstream consideration or even planning! best regards and congrats again on an excellent software release. artmischke Posted November 11, 2022 Posted November 11, 2022 Agree on this one for photo 2. Did bought the whole suite on day 2...but was hoping until the last day before release for a DAM solution as there is no batch process within affinity available. To add to your list, I was hoping on AI improvements for filters - like skin retouching possibilities to simplify the process and save time. I mean with the frequency separation there is already a simplified process available but still not close to what's possible. Still hoping there is something to come within v2 as I´m very happy with Designer and for me as I mainly design flyers and small brochures - Publisher is fine, too. BR Steffen PS: As I bought the whole suite in EUR via the Serif page - there must be enough budget for development 🤣😉 Quote
Artwo Posted November 11, 2022 Posted November 11, 2022 I think intelligent object detection and subject masking could be a really great feature! I made the same post here: I thought it was something really basic now, you can find stuff like this in many apps on smartphones, desktop, online... Quote
Davetheartist Posted February 2, 2024 Posted February 2, 2024 I agree with the others. AI masking would be a great feature. I already use it in Capture One Pro for photography and with the addition of luminosity blending you can really concentrate on areas of an image selectively with great precision. Ive just cancelled Photoshop so Affinity will have to step up in this department . Love the Program...still a learning curve but very useful in my work flow. Quote
Torstein Posted February 5, 2024 Posted February 5, 2024 I have never used AI masking in my photo edits. So, I just wonder, how precise is it? If I want to mask hairy subjects, like humans or dogs, mostly all of the time is used to refine the selection. If I still have to do the work with refining the selection, I will not save much time.... Quote
