Granddaddy
That the Search box in Preferences does not do anything is another old bug carried over from APhoto version 1 into APhoto version 2. Frustrated users have been reporting this bug for years. The inability to search Shortcuts is especially frustrating when trying to create new shortcuts. The bug was discussed at some length 2-1/2 years ago in the thread athttps://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/110065-publisher-for-windows-18-using-preferencessearch/ This is another sad example of a bug that the developers are well aware of and hope to get to in a future update. Simply removing the Search box from Preferences as part of the UI "upgrade" would have eliminated this bug and turned it into just another missing feature. Staff Chris B Posted November 11, 2022 Staff Share Posted November 11, 2022 Hi Granddaddy, We define a bug as something that isn't working the way the code intends it to. Unfortunately in this case, the search box has not been designed to search for individual shortcuts and there is no code to do this. I do strongly agree that perhaps in the future, it should search for shortcuts as I can often struggle to find the shortcut I want so I am not disagreeing with you at all. I just wanted to clarify our definition of it. Granddaddy
Thanks Chris. Your definition of "bug" sounds right. I've submitted a request that Shortcuts be made searchable at Chris B 1 Quote Affinity Photo 2.4.2 (MSI) and 1.10.6; Affinity Publisher 2.4.2 (MSI) and 1.10.6. Windows 10 Home x64 version 22H2.
