Linked embedded text file - odf/doc aso. - as Indesign (or better)

Recommended Posts

I like to make designed documents with embedded linked text from google, word, libre-office, pages or other - all work for me.

My workflow: I/others write a text-flie. I design a document (Indesign works here) and embed/link the text to it. When edits are made in the text-file (xdoc or..) they appear in the designed document. Text-styles ect (Headings, bullets, I,  B, ...) still works - and get the designed documents attributes.

Id like to be able to have that workflow in publisher.

Possible? Timeline?

best regards

Hans

Not possible today. Perhaps could be added, if the Serif team wants to.

Timelines are not disclosed by Serif in general. If they decide to do it, it will happen someday. Until they have something almost ready to go, and release it for customer testing, we would not know about it.

Something that current page layout programs don't do is preserving links to external image files linked in the text. A very common layout, that is constantly ignored.

It would be great if Publisher could use keep a text linked, and scan for linked images in the linked text. Update the text, and the links to external image files are still there.
