GDCo
Hello! I am working on a biology teaching book, and it has a lot of images and I have to number the images because they are referenced in the text. My problem is that when one image is deleted or added in the middle of the process my labeling number and caption wise become all wrong and I have to re -do it all over again! So, is there a way co automaticaly label the images by number in a chapter or uinit? An automatic label like "Fig.2.1 - Cell" under the image? thank you for sharing! walt.farrell
You can setup a Paragraph Text Style that will automatically do the numbering for you, and will automatically adjust if you add or delete images in the sequence. That's done in the Bullets & Numbering part of the text style, and uses the Name field to keep track of what numbers to assign. However, you cannot refer to the images by their name/number except manually, and those manual references will have to be adjusted manually if the numbers adjust.
